Wine & Book Club!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve partnered with Oddbins for a very special Wine & Book Club running online and instore throughout August.

Not only have the wine experts at Oddbins paired our 6 fabulous Summer Read titles with the PERFECT bottle of vino for you to enjoy, but we have an absolutely CRACKING competition for you to enter.

Set in the wine country of the Dordogne, You Me Everything is a novel about one woman’s fierce determination to grab hold of the family she has and never let go. A romantic story as heady as a crisp Sauvignon on a summer day, however, if you’re after refreshing notes of lime zest, grapefruit and elderflower, we’d go with the Chateau Haut-Moulyre Blanc.

Dark and intense, this family drama and powerful Argentinian Malbec seem to be cut from the same cloth, while Atkins brooding novel will stay with you long after the book has closed, flavours of bramble and black fruit will linger on the tongue well after the sip has past your lips.

Despite the inexplicable desire to sing to the cover of this book “in the middle of our street,” this edgy and scintillating thriller needs to be read with a wine as brooding, mysterious and complex as the novel itself. McManis Pinot Noir with flavours of strawberry, black pepper, mushroom and dark cherries is well up to the task!

The third instalment in the ‘Larkford Series’ is a laugh out loud romantic comedy, that is as much a summer essential as a chilled bottle of a crisp & refreshing Provence rosé! Turn off the phone, poor yourself a glass of wine and lie in your reading hammock with Best Practice. (What? Oh you must get a reading hammock.)

As Anna, her friends and extended family get together to talk, laugh, bicker, eat too much and pop a few bottles surely it would only be appropriate to poor a glass of sparkling wine yourself and join the Sunday Lunch Club. Sipping on this elegant you Cremant from Burgundy, it’ll become clear you have the best taste of anyone at the table!

A perfectly imperfect pairing! Come on, the goal was wide open. Given baking is what brings our lead characters to become unlikely friends it would seem improper not to pair this read with a succulent and fragrant dessert wine, that would be an ideal accompaniment to anything baked in this novel!
