My Make-up Essential I Can’t Live Without by Jackie Collins
If I were trapped on a desert island the one make-up essential I couldn’t live without would be my dark brown eyeliner pencil by La Prairie. This pencil can be used for everything—eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner—oh yes, and I would also want Yves Saint Laurent lip gloss. Whew! Nothing like a touch of make-up to liven up a long stay on a desert island!
It all sounds very romantic to be stranded on a desert island, especially if one looked like a character from “Lost”. But I would be totally lost if I didn’t have a pen and paper to write—I’d even give up my make-up for the chance to create stories, for telling stories is my life, it is the gift I was given.
I have never written about characters being abandoned on a desert island, but it is a great premise for a storyteller. I wonder how my fierce and fabulous heroine, Lucky Santangelo, would survive on a desert island. I have a strong suspicion she would be just fine.
I have written 32 books and many strong women characters, but Lucky has always been my favourite. I would love to be Lucky in another life, she handles everything with such style and panache.
Ah . . . another thought. Since I chose the La Prairie eye pencil as my must-have—it can also double as a writing tool!
I’m all set. A desert island for me and my La Prairie eye pencil. Bring it on!
