Gone fishing… by SJV

With full disclosure, I’m not writing this on my usual Monday morning #commute.  It’s Saturday 24th, I’m still in my PJs, and there’s a rerun of Agatha Christie’s Marple: The Moving Finger playing quietly to itself in the background.

Last night, at 7pm, leaving 46 un-actioned emails in my inbox, I stuck my Out of Office on and plodded away from S&S Towers.  I’ve got 10 whole days away from work ahead of me, and whilst I won’t have to get up at silly o’clock, get home at silly o’clock and spend the time in-between attempting to be a grown up, I do have lots to achieve in the next 10 days.

I spent 2 hours cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom this morning, we’ve just put the Ocado shop away, I’ve printed out 12 House of Virtue Gin labels ready to start infusing Batch 3: 2018 tonight, and I’m about to crack on with sorting out the bills, the post, and the rest of the usual personal admin one only gets the time to do at the weekends.

Later we’ll be visiting various old people… birthday gift choosing, buying, wrapping… and bottom of the boiler cupboard clearing out.  Tomorrow it’s ironing… bathroom cleaning… and wiping down all the blinds.  See?  Full to the brim with good stuff.

So, if you want me in the next week – I’ll be sorting out the spice cupboard.  Tackling that crack in the paintwork in the ceiling that needs touching up, the Make-Up Bag of Shame (featuring no less than 21 eye liners that need sharpening), that patch of lino in the corner of the bathroom that needs sticking down…again.  I’m going to bring Susan back to life.  And put Spider, who’s just gathering dust in the corner of the hallway, out of his misery.

See you on the flip-side people.  I miss you already.
