Do you have a ‘day job’, and if so, can you tell us what you do?
Yes my day job is handling disease claims for an insurer. I handle lots of different claims from Noise Induced Hearing Loss to Asbestos related illnesses.
How did your journey as a book blogger begin?
I owe my blogging career (is that the right word? I’m going to go with it anyway) to Lindsey Kelk. I read I Heart Paris and I was so awed by the fact that the main character had set up her own blog. I was fascinated with this and I started researching blogs. I started my first blog on Blogger but I didnt get on well with the platform so that didn’t last long. A few years after I set up a blog on WordPress. This blog was the beginning of the site you see today.
Is there such a thing as a typical day in the life of a book blogger, and if so what does it look like?
hahaha, no I don’t think there is a typical day but for me a perfect day would be one where I could sit in my reading chair with my kindle, a nice piece of cake and a cup of tea.
We’re obsessed with other peoples TBR piles, how high is yours?
erm….. it’s big. Really big. I can’t give you a figure because I would have to calculate it and I can’t face that.
What’s the best and worst part of being a book blogger?
The best thing is the community. When I didn’t realise what a community there is out there. People are so welcoming. I love connecting with authors and other bloggers. The worst thing is not having more time. I wish I could spend more time reading.
On average, how many books do you read in a year?
I would say about 80.
Is there an author you’d sell a limb to meet?
I have been lucky enough to meet a few of my favourite authors at signings and events but one of my favourites is my friend Aven Ellis. We haven’t met in person because we live on different sides of the Atlantic.
