A DAY IN THE LIFE OF…. Catherine Bennetto by SJV
Is there such a thing as a typical day, and if so what does it look like?
Not really. Some days I can’t get to the computer. Some days I have the luxury of being on it all day; surrounded by scraps of paper, undrunk mugs of liquorice tea and a large needy farm dog who thinks he’s a very tiny kitten.
For the record, if I was a budding debut author, faced with the dreaded blank first page, what would be your top tip to bestseller success?
I’ll let you know when I have one! But advice to budding writers: you can’t send an agent a blank page so just get writing.
We’re obsessed with other peoples TBR piles, how high is yours?
Due to a mobile lifestyle I now only read on kindle so I have no idea how ‘high’ the book pile is. The odd book I feel obliged to read but mostly I read for pleasure.
Have you got a best and worst part of the job?
Best part: not having a boss. Worst part: not having colleagues.
What book do you most recommend to others?
Spike Milligan’s War Memoirs. And whatever cookbook I’m obsessed with at the time.
